Introduction

I have never written a blog before so here goes! Just a little bit about myself, I have been a Florist for 17 years, and a Master Florist since February 2022.  I have had my shop since February 2017 and it has been like pulling teeth, the years have not been kind, it has been hard work trying to establish a business in today’s economic climate, and now I seriously thinking about going back to being freelance.

For the past year and a half, my husband and I have cleared the rear area of the house where our sheds were erected, built a retaining wall the full length of the property, erected two pillars, at the entrance, built a 4.9 metre x 2.40 metre workshop and secondary block building which will be my husband’s man shed.  “Oh” I forgot, we also have erected a poly tunnel for me to grow flowers.

It has been a bit cold and wet lately to go out and render the last end wall to the workshop.  Instead, I have been choosing units to erect inside and a workstation for my office work.

Back to flowers.  I aim to grow Alstroemeria, Peonies, Dahlias, Stocks and English Roses this year, I have purchased good rootstock from specialist growers so I will let you know how I get on.  Here’s hoping I will have some success and be able to use them for my weddings this year.

By the way, if you are looking for a Wedding Florist, then look no further, check out my website @ www.finefloraldesign.co.uk to see just a sample of what I can offer.
